Fees and Referrals
Rachel believes mental health treatment should be accessible to everyone and strives to make services as affordable as possible. She does this by keeping fees below that of industry recommendations.
How Do I Access Psychological Services?
Anyone can see a psychologist. There are a number of methods and fees depending on your specific circumstances, including:
Medicare: a valid GP referral with a Mental Health Care Plan is required in order to claim Medicare rebates.
The Department of Health created a patients Fact Sheet which provides information about available Medicare rebates.
Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA): White and Gold card holders can access Psychology with a valid GP referral. Find out more here.
Private Health: if you have extras cover for Clinical Psychology Rachel will provide you with a paid invoice to submit to your health fund for reimbursement.
Private referrals: self-funded clients are able to see Clinical Psychologists
Workcover: Rachel is an approved provider for Workcover and will require your claim number and approval by Workcover before commencement of sessions.
How Many Sessions Am I Entitled To?
As an independent client you are able to access as many sessions as required.
Clients who have a Mental Health Care Plan were limited to 10 individual psychological therapy sessions per calendar year but as of 9th October 2020 an additional 10 Medicare-subsidised sessions have been made available per calendar year. Contact your GP to discuss eligibility .
DVA provide initial treatment cycle of 12 sessions to be reviewed following report to GP
Workcover is dependent on the number of sessions allocated and may be reviewed.
